In 1977, E. John Stephens started the company Timmins Northland Monuments at its present location. He believed that there was a need for this type of business in Northern Ontario. At the time, there were only two employees working with Mr.Stephens, one of them, Francine
Lessard, its present owner. The company evolved from doing all the work manually to a system that now utilizes mostly computerized equipment. Although this equipment produces a much higher level of quality and productivity, Timmins Northland Monuments still employs four full time people during the summer months, including an artist on hand to do all the personalized etchings. Altogether, they have a combined 50 years of experience in the monument building business.
